2 games and 2 wins for the 1st XI

Chichester v Cheltenham Chichester welcome Cheltenham to Kingsham for its first home league match of the season.  Cheltenham had won their first 2 games with ease whilst Chichester had picked up just 1 point from their opening 2 games. It was Cheltenham who started the better of the 2 teams, keeping possession well and playing the ball around.  However, Chichester defended well and although they did not have as much of the ball, they did not feel threatened.   It was Chichester who took the lead, a penalty corner in Chichester’s favour found Luke Emmett in space who calmly spotted the ball into the goal.  Chichester made it 2 before the break when Tom McCarthy was on hand to tap in a neat back post deflection. Get to the game! and the rugby!

The Mens 1XI have their first home league game this SATURDAY 1.30pm at Kingsham vs Cheltenham. Please come and support them. After the game there will be a rugby themed social and we will be showing the World Cup games on our (newly repaired) projector/big screen. Come on Chichester (and England!)

1st XI vs Uni of Birmingham match report

University of Birmingham v Chichester After a promising draw against Bath Buccs last week Chichester were keen to get their first win of the season away to Birmingham. Chichester made the long trip to Birmingham looking to put in a performance in to be proud off. Birmingham started the better of the 2 teams, Chichester again failed to come of the blocks and were tentative on the ball. Although Birmingham started the better, Chichester still looked threating going forward but some fine saves from the opposition goalkeeper, off attempts by Luke Emmett and Tom McCarthy in particular, kept the scores level. 12 minutes in it was Birmingham who opened the scoring with a well worked penalty corner, it was soon 2-0 when some sloppy passing from the Chichester defence fell to a free Birmingham forward who fired the ball home. … Continue reading
