Friars season report 2014

  The Friars – League Champions again! Another strong season saw the Friars retain the INVESTEC Wessex Masters Division 1 title. Despite operating with a relatively small squad of 14 players, with appearances by a number of players to help out when needed.  However, the league season did not start well as we were not able to field a side away to Salisbury, so a default 0 – 5 defeat was recorded.  The remainder the first half of season saw a 100% success, with every game won.  We hit the top of the table by November, with a run of 5 games with 45 goals scored!  December saw a dip in performance, but we ground out 2 vital wins against Salisbury and Haslemere, the nearest rivals in the league to retain top spot. Chips Season report 2014

Chichester Chipmunks are the youth development team for the hockey club. They are a group of 13 to 17 year olds who play in an adult league. They played 22 won 12 drew 3 and lost 7, finishing 4th in the league on goal difference to Lewes. > > Biggest high of the season was the 3 – 2 win over Lewes in a really physical encounter. The team held there nerve and composure, fought to the end and got the winner in the dying seconds of the game. > > Biggest low was the season was it finishing, what on earth are we all going to do from now until October! The review: a season to remember.

The 2013/14 season was year two of a two-year plan for Chichester’s men’s first team to gain promotion into the National League by winning the South Premier division-one title. Here is how they achieved their dream…   BEFORE Chichester’s season began, the team saw a lot of changes. Captain Richard Blakesley moved back to his home town Horsham and passed the reins over to Jack Lerwill. Martin Gough and Connor McLoughlin moved to Havant, Alex Baxter to Fareham and Alex Holton went off to university. Chichester welcomed back Matt Cox from East Grinstead to help bolster the gap left by the departure of Blakesley, while Tom Phillips joined the club after finishing university in Sheffield and Ollie Baxter joined from Lewes while attending the University of Chichester.
